Katla is the Norwegian-Icelandic chef Atli Mar Yngvasson's new restaurant. His travels to countries such as Korea, Thailand and Mexico create dishes that cross Latin American and Asian flavors with Nordic ingredients.

The name Katla is taken from one of the largest volcanoes in Iceland and is a very lively place with an open kitchen, informal atmosphere and high pulse. They prepare food on an open flame and make sauces on large lava rocks, or so-called molcajetes’ from Mexico. Nordic ingredients are served mixed with flavours and techniques we know from Asia and Latin America.

Taking cues both from the Nordic, Asian and Latin-American culture the graphic direction for Katla plays on a Nordic typographic icon (or totem) that is inspired by the volcano of the same name - that consolidates the cuisines under one umbrella.
